The session focuses on baby only.
- Cake Smash Photography — Price on quote A birthday shoot that starts with family portraits, then a themed cake smash with decorations, a balloon arch, and a provided cake, and ends with a bubbly bath splash. Questions and answers
- When should I book a newborn photoshoot?
- Book during pregnancy to secure your date. Curled, sleepy poses work best in the first month of life. Awake, alert images can be taken up to around 4 months. Emma confirms the exact session date once your baby arrives.
- Is newborn photography safe?
- Yes. Emma is fully trained in newborn safety and handling. Many poses use composite images to ensure safety and comfort. The studio stays warm throughout the session and includes regular breaks.
- What does the session fee cover for newborn and cake smash bookings?
- The £75 session fee covers studio time and use of all props and outfits. For cake smash sessions, it also covers decorations, a balloon arch, and the cake. You then choose a digital image collection separately after viewing your edited images.
- Can family members join the session?
- Yes. Partners, siblings, and grandparents are all welcome. Emma has photographed groups of up to 20 people in the studio at once — just give advance notice for larger groups.
- When is the best time for a maternity photoshoot?
- Between 28 and 36 weeks is ideal, when your bump is clearly visible and you are still comfortable. For twins or an expected early birth, 28–30 weeks is better.
- What if my child does not cooperate during the session?
- Sessions are relaxed and child-led. There is no pressure for children to sit still or perform. Emma has 18 years of experience creating a comfortable environment, and natural moments often produce the best images.
- Do you provide outfits and props?
- Yes. The studio has wraps, blankets, props for newborns, and a full wardrobe of maternity gowns and accessories. You can also bring your own items if you prefer.
- Where is the studio?
- The studio is at 23a High Street South, Olney, Milton Keynes MK46 4AA. It is open Monday–Saturday 9:30–4:30. Sunday sessions are available on request.
