The Stretto Ensembles are a London-based professional string ensemble offering a choice of four formations: String Quartet (two violins, viola, cello), String Trio (violin, viola, cello), Violin & Cello Duo, and Two Cellos. Their musicians have performed in West End productions, on film scores, in recording sessions at Abbey Road, in the pits of leading UK opera houses, and on stage with major London symphony orchestras. They perform for weddings, corporate events, private celebrations, and funerals across the UK and beyond, playing a wide repertoire from classical to contemporary, with bespoke song requests available on request.

- Violin & Cello Duo — Price on application A duo of violin and cello performing a broad repertoire from classical to contemporary. Prices start from £380; a personalised quote based on venue location and total booking length is required. The duo is entirely acoustic and requires only two armless chairs and a clear performance space.
- Two Cellos — Price on application A unique duo of two cellos offering a rich, warm sound suited to ceremonies and intimate events. This formation is bookable alongside the ensemble's other configurations; contact for a personalised quote including venue location and total booking length.
- String Trio — Price on application A classic string trio of violin, viola, and cello. Prices start from £510; a personalised quote based on venue location and total booking length is required. Entirely acoustic, suited to ceremonies, drinks receptions, and corporate events. Bespoke repertoire requests are welcome.
- String Quartet — Price on application The flagship formation: two violins, viola, and cello. Prices start from £640; a personalised quote based on venue location and total booking length is required. Musicians have performed with London's leading orchestras and in West End shows. Suited to weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations, with a comprehensive and regularly updated repertoire.
Questions and answers
- Can you learn a specific song for our event?
- Yes — they are happy to add requests to their repertoire. Sheet music costs £10–£30 per piece, which is covered by the client.
- How much space do you need to perform?
- A square area of roughly 3–4 metres on each side.
- What equipment do you need from us?
- Just armless chairs (one per performer). The ensemble is entirely acoustic and needs no power supply.
- Do you have public liability insurance?
- Yes, they hold public liability insurance up to £10 million.
- Can you perform outdoors?
- Yes, but they require a cover to ensure they are shaded from the sun and protected from rain.
- How experienced is the ensemble?
- The ensemble has approximately 15 years of experience performing at events and has played at over 400 weddings.
- Can you play longer than originally booked if needed?
- For ceremonies, they can be flexible with end times. For receptions, they generally cannot extend beyond the booked period due to other commitments — they recommend booking a longer set if you are concerned about timing.
