Magic Richie (Ritchie Rosson) is a children's entertainer and magician based in Sutton, South London, with 20 years of professional experience and more than 2,000 shows performed. Specialising in children aged 4–8, he delivers interactive, comedy-led magic shows, party games and high-energy entertainment for birthday parties, school and nursery events, holiday camps and family occasions. He performs throughout London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex and the South East, with nationwide travel available for larger events.

Questions and answers
- Who are the parties suitable for?
- Magic Richie's 2-hour birthday parties are designed for children celebrating their 4th to 8th birthdays, with a minimum of 10 children attending. If you're having a smaller party, Richie can instead offer a magical close-up visit.
- Is the booking fee refundable?
- No. The booking fee is non-refundable. If the birthday child is unwell, your party can be rescheduled to another available date within 3 months of the original booking.
- Can we have a joint birthday party?
- Yes. There is an additional charge of £50 for each extra family involved. 2 birthday children from 2 families = +£50 3 families = +£100 If the birthday children are from the same family, there is no extra charge. For joint parties, one parent should be the main point of contact during the event.
- How much space does Richie need?
- Richie needs: Around 2m x 2m for the performance Floor space for children to sit Chairs behind them for adults Please don't use floor cushions, as they quickly become distractions during the show.
- Do adults need to stay and supervise?
- Yes. Richie is an entertainer, not a childminder. Please have at least: 3 adults for every 10 children 6 adults for 20 children 9 adults for 30 children More supervision is recommended, especially for drop-off parties. If a child has additional needs that may affect the entertainment, their parent or carer should stay with them.
- When should we serve food?
- Please don't serve food, sweets or drinks during the magic show or immediately beforehand. The best time is during the planned food break halfway through the party. This helps keep everyone's attention on the entertainment.
- What about parking?
- Richie brings a large amount of equipment. Please ensure there is suitable parking at, or very close to, the venue.
- Can the party be held outdoors?
- Yes, during summer, provided: The performance area is fully shaded (or covered with a gazebo) There is access to one power socket A suitable indoor backup location is available in case of rain or wind Shows cannot take place in public parks without the necessary permissions.
- When is the final payment due?
- The remaining balance should be paid during the week before the party. Payment can also be made on the day by: Card (via Square) Apple Pay Cash
- Can Richie match our party theme?
- Richie offers special themed shows for Christmas and Halloween. Other party themes aren't available because the show is carefully choreographed and planned.
- How early does Richie arrive?
- Richie usually arrives around 45 minutes before the party to set up and needs around 20–30 minutes afterwards to pack away.
- What happens if the party becomes too disruptive?
- Very rarely, if the entertainment is repeatedly interrupted (for example by food being handed out during the show), Richie may need to stop the main show and switch to background music and close-up magic instead.
- Who is responsible for child safety?
- The party organiser is responsible for ensuring the venue is safe for children. If Richie believes the performance area is unsafe, he may pause or stop the show until any safety concerns are resolved.
- What if someone behaves inappropriately?
- Richie is committed to providing a fun, safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. If anyone's behaviour creates an unsafe or abusive environment, he reserves the right to pause or end the performance. In these circumstances, the full fee remains payable.
- Why are there so many rules?
- They're all based on Richie's experience entertaining at over 2,000 birthday parties and are simply there to help make your party as fun, magical and stress-free as possible! 🎉✨
